And fun we did have on Junior Camp this year. Working in the mess tent is hard work but with such a good team of caterers once again this year the fun element shone through. From singing to dressing up as pirates we had a fab time. I'm just not cooking at home for a few days rest!!
The vision that Avril Dankworth had, was to give young people with a love of music an experience that combined her two loves, music and camping. She specified that the musical experience should be completely different to what the campers experienced at school. It should embrace all genres, all abilities, and should take place as much as possible outdoors.
As we enter our Fortieth year, this blog aims to celebrate all that happened, all that is still happening, and to toast all that is hopefully yet to come. I hope it will be a place to share the music, creativity, memories and friendship, and a meeting place for all music camp alumni, present campers and staff. Please leave comments and messages.
Heres to the next forty years!
